DILIGENT
urban renwall, reuse and sustainabilty are issues in the front row of univerasl discussions
a whole lot of talking and discussing and way to little actions.
in this new project we are designing we have been given the chance to actually do..
the project is a business hotel in one of the most occupied business districts in israel.
the first three storeys are currently occupied by an old industrial facility. instead of destroying the building and planning a new one instead, we plan to reserve most of it. though the majority of the building mass will remain, its design will change extensivly. inside and out.
the industrial look and feel will remain in the large loft rooms along with new facilities and modern systems that will bring the building up to date and transform it to adjust to its new functional needs.
over the existing builiding will arise  several more floors, built using "dry technologies", enabling fast construction and light weight structures.
none the less important is that the new design is distinctly inspired by the authentic industrial vibe of the existing building.
the vision is to create a functioning renewal method. the functions and design are replaced but we give a large scale of concideration in reusing many of the resources that have already been used. we believe it not necessary to begin a new project by demolishing the existing. some times it is possible and even best to use the foundations thar are already on ground.
